From The Library Of The Unsubscriber No.2, Artistic Luminaries and Uncredited Heroes

This week’s glimpse into my library reveals a number of little treasures including cover artwork by such luminaries as Diane Dillon and Leo Dillon, Hoot Von Zitzewitz and Ian Miller. The final two books in this selection are both recent acquisitions – I just love the cover for Android Armageddon and its disembodied, computer filled head. Design like this would never get past draft stage these days which is more the pity.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this brief selection of randomly selected covers and books;

    The fella in white on the cover of Android Armageddon does look like he is out playing cricket just as his team mates have been teleported away… 🙂

      Well spotted Mr Cafe, the computer brained man clearly has well developed powers of teleportation too!

    Fritz Leiber? What a fine, fine fine gentleman you are….!

    I take it Atoms & Evil isn’t a Richard Power’s drawing or maybe an impersonation?

      Why thank you sir, it’s very good of you to acknowledge my humble efforts down here in the library. The Atoms & Evil cover art is sadly uncredited but clearly looks like someone aping Powers’ style

    On a more serious note, fans of the Big Time will find it rewarding to track down the Easton press edition of the book.

      Wow, you sure love your Leiber! I was lucky to snap my copy up fairly cheaply, I fell in love with cover as I usually do. Some other great covers in your article.

        Indeed, I got hooked at 16.

        I got name checked in a few hardback collections for supply rare stories. I was grinning like a Cheshire cat for days!
